I tried hardware acceleration and it did not work on 32 bit version of Opera(says it was enabled in Opera:config but only running 2FPS on test below )anyway tried 64 bit version and it works fine, btw you can try this test here to see if you get 60FPS with hardware acceleration enabled https://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Performance/ParticleAcceleration/ ,without you should get something like 2FPS.

Going to stick with 64 bit version now of Opera with hardware acceleration enabled 🙂 .
Btw bruceb tried that tool for moving my stuff from 32 bit to 64 bit Opera, works great 😎 .

Also type opera:gpu in address bar to see your hardware status of acceleration etc...

http://html5test.com/ I had 400 on test score with 64 bit version, 32 bit version was 385

http://my.opera.com/chooseopera/blog/2011/10/13/opera-12-alpha-with-hardware-acceleration also a couple under hardware acceleration section for you to try.

It worked a few days ago but now I am having problems with gchat loading in opera 12. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

My theory it is some kind of network issue, i will test it out at a different location.

Anandtech forums seem faster with hardware acceleration disabled, anybody else notice that?

Think its AT forums, sometimes its fast and sometimes slow, checked other sites and they are fast.

just been hit but an ati issue. i've noticed in the past that i can't have more than 2 DXVA videos playing at the same time otherwise i get a display driver reloaded error. it just happened now. 1 video opened, opera opened (using the gpu) and when i tried to play another video - driver reload. problem is, opera can't be recovered properly and you have to load a prev session
