Where can I find guides for these two for port forwarding? I looked but unable to find anything...

if you use standard http proxy then yes it can be sniffed easily. What you are talking about is an ssh tunnel. Just go install OpenSSH on your home computer. Then on the client install any ssh client that can forward ports. Then you point your browser or any other thing such as AIM to use your ssh tunnel. There are tons of guides on how to do that.

Where do you find these guides? I am new to this stuff so I could not figure out how OpenSSH was for windows so I did not download it... instead I got copSSH and I still do not know how to use it... I read their directions and setup a user and when I try to log on through putty I keep getting access denied.
