Sounds good, gonna give it a try...
I'm a student...but it isn't worth $100 now that OOo has comea round with such good compatibility. The Stylist alone makes it a breeze for word processing and spreadsheets.Originally posted by: NightCrawler
For Home users there is no reason to use Office 2003 if your doing simple task, Open Office is perfect for people who don't want to spend $400.
Don't expect it to be just like Office. The spreadsheet isn't quite as easy to use as Excel for 1.x (I haven't done enough in 2.x to say anything other than they've done good tweaks in the word processor), and presentation bit is about as easy as Powerpoint, though requires more work (things have a very basic motif-like look, rather than being stylized by default).Originally posted by: archcommus
Is the general consensus that OO is just as good as Office or actually better in terms of features and ease-of-use?

The Stylist is what makes it much better than Office, IMO.

I've been using 1.1.2 and I like it although it crashes more than I like. If 2.0 offers better stability, I could give up on Office entirely.
