Opening compressed files

Can you guys recommend a good free program for opening .rar and .zip files and well any compressed files? It has to work with vista. Thanks

Never had to use one on my last computer. It just automatically opened anything when I clicked on it but I just built this one and Vista doesnt come with a program to open these.

XP and Vista should both open zip files automatically but Windows has never supported any other compressed file formats so if you were opening rar files on your old machine then you most certainly did install something extra to open them.

I am using winrar for archive files and have winzip by default. I think both are the best compressing tools for compressing purposes.
