Opening a hawt can'o'worms here but am i alone in finding the US National anthem somewhat uninspiring?

I can (and do on a regular basis ) roar the Australian National anthem out at rubgy games, and as an ex-Scot pumped "O'Flower Of Scotland" out back in the day...but i have trouble imagining a crowd blasting out your National anthem as a 'getting pumped' warmup? (without orchestral accompaniment (sp?) anyway)

Non-rednecked automatic flame responses preferred This is just my 2c, no more...

i think its a awesome tune (and when sung properly amazing to hear), but i just can't imagine a crowd blasting it out by themselves during the interval...although i am happy to stand corrected

I've heard it before. There have been threads about national anthems before with links to sites that have had national anthems listed up. Australia's is one of the worst, IMO.

They should have just made their national anthem the theme song for Crocodile Dundee if it even had a theme song of any sort.

i agree with you, its a little on the underwhemling side. But i love it, cuz it remendes people of the lives lost fighting to free this country and later on who fought to protect it. You don;t need a big bad, in your face song to really feel patrotic about your country.

I don't think that an Anthem should be pumping you up. When I think of someone who gets pumped up because of an anthem, I think of someone with a flag tied around their head too tightly, with their face painted the colors of the flag, etc.
