I used to be able to open 2 of my account in separate browsers simultaneously and check e-mails and write on both.

Now, after I open one up, then i open another IE window and goto yahoo mail and it signs me in automatically with the first account i open up. I can't have more then one account open now at a time.

Does this have to do with cookies? or something else?

Please help

yah, i just checked save password and username, both empty.

If i close all my browser windows, then reopen mail.yahoo.com it'll sign me in automatically, this is on WINDOWS 98.

I think i checked "REMEMBER MY ID ON THIS COMPUTER" once when logging in. How do I UNDO that feature. I already deleted all my cookies and temp files and history. Anything I'm missing?

Thanks

If it was IE storing the password, you'll have to find where you can turn it off under its options... it might be called AutoComplete, but don't quote me on that.

IE isn't storing the password. It's just that when i open another Explorer window via execution rather then hitting CTRL+N and jsut opening another window, NORMALLY it would allow me to open another yahoo account without interfering with the first one.

I can do this just fine on my XP machine.

It feels like it had something to do with IE checking 'session' cookies when I open a new browser.

So when it sees that I'm already signed onto mail.yahoo.com in another browser window, it logs me into the current one by itself using the previous account.

What I'm trying to say is that, when NO accounts are open and i goto mail.yahoo.com, i have to sign in my USER NAME and my PASSWORD.

Once I'm logged in, I'll run IE again to open another browser. When i goto mail.yahoo.com, it automatically signs me in with the first browsers info.

What i used to be able to do was goto mail.yahoo.com in the 2nd browser without it automatically logging me in.

I think i might have 'checked' "Remember my ID on this computer" once. But I did that at my XP pc also and that didn't cause this problem.

It wouldnt be bad expect i have to click 3 times just to fully log out and then log back in with another name.

Thanks

Davi

If session cookies are being used, that makes it tough. Only way it would work is if it IE would save 2 different cookies that yahoo is leaving. If you block all cookies, will yahoo kvetch or will it use transient URL sessions?

Cookies are required.

Its something I did that caused this (most likely when i checked "Remember My ID on this ocmputer") maybe its something else.

No cookie, no mail :(

Please HELP!

i'm wondering if upgrading to a newer version might solve the problem, if not is it possible to UNINSTALL IE on win98SE wihtout doing any harm?

If I upgrade will it save previous settings or fresh new copy?

My guess is that it wasn't working correctly before. I'd just use a different browser, mozilla maybe, before going through the trouble of reinstalling anything.

I can open 2 different yahoo mail accounts on the 3 pcs at my bros house, the PC at my house and my friends places also. They are running Windows 98SE, 2000 pro and XP.

I just installed Mozilla.

I still want to know what the heck happened and how to fix it.
