I boot from the floppy with openbsd3.1, it goes through the detection process till it asks you if you want to upgrade, install or shell.

my keyboard doesn't work🙁
it works fine in win95 (whats on the HD currently)

it's an old P166
AT keyboad w/serial mouse.

i'm stuck here😕

uhhh... Never seen that and never had a problem with the older AT keyboards... Watch the boot stuff go by and see if it mentions the keyboard or any errors.

just did that, didnt see any errors that jumped out at me, did notice this though

when detecting things the numlock light on the keyboard glows nice and bright. after I get to the command prompt to install, all 3 keyboard lights are on but very dim, weird.
maybe I''l bring home a new KB tomorrow😕

One of the wierd things that happens with my keyboard at home (ps2) is the numlock key will be lit but numlock isnt on.

Not sure what to tell you, try the new keyboard and let us know if it works. Never had problems with the keyboard that didnt end up being a bad keyboard.

found another keyboard last night, still nogo 🙁
but the messages displayed seemed to be different.😕

I'm gonna try it at work today
