For everyone following -current, notice i386 switched to gcc3 today.
The upgrade-minifaq has been updated with instructions:

http://openbsd.org/faq/upgrade-minifaq.html#3.6.5

WARNING, this is a FLAG DAY, so you have to either exert special care
and do things by hand as above, or wait for snapshots to appear.
Specifically, it will be best in your favour to rebuild/reinstall all
your packages from scratch as well.

Upgrading is easiest through a snapshot, since the upgrade by source instructions look a bit tricky.

I thought whats-his-name said they would never move to GCC 3. How much trouble will having one architecture on GCC 3 and the rest on 2 cause?

Several of the archs are on GCC3 already. AMD64 isn't supported by 2.95, PPC is supported better by 3, and maybe a couple of others (don't feel like checking). Theo's response to this statement was that they weighed the pros and cons and figured the move was worth it now. One of the big problems was compile time, but I don't think that's improved at all.

😀

Apparently Linux isn't a big fan of gcc3 either. 😉

On the upside, OpenBSD has: a FREE Apache, the latest X.org, the latest OpenSSH, the latest Sendmail, I believe close to the latest BIND, the latest propolice, etc. Where's Debian at? 😛
