closed phones produce better sound and the acustics are better. they also are better for your ears because you have no outside noise to turn up the volume.

what outside noise? i thought we were talking about audiophile headphones, not some streetlook el cheapo... where do you get this misguided idea of closed phones being better? please name some of closed phones that are better than hd-650, dt-880, rs-1/2, hp-2? r-10 doesnt count, its price is quite prohibitive and it is one of the hardest phones to drive requiring some decent amp (= more $$$ spent)
