Open source CMS with integrated mysql based photo gallery

My school's php rollout is incompatible with G2 from menalto. The __FILE__ constant does not report absolute paths, which renders the entire server incompatible with gallery2. There is far too much red tape around our server for me to get someone to update PHP, so I cannot use G2.

I was planning on using Joomla + G2, but that failed because of the G2 incompatibility.

I then tried DragonFly (which has a gallery built in), but I can't get that to work with the server either. (Reason unknown at this juncture)

Now I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Isn't there a coppermine bridge that lets it work with mambo/joomla? Of course I have no idea if coppermine has the same limitation.

There is, but I can't find an open source version. The only thing I've found is a commercial version...
