My parents have a s200 ( I think - its called an Ixus v2 here in the UK), which I got for them and showed them how to use ;)

They do use the strap (especially when skiing, etc) and use the leather case that came with a pair of cheapo binoculars that fits perfectly. its never scratched the lcd, which still looks great.

I've got an S200. I use the strap and I have the Canon case (bluish/purplish color). Works out great. Use a PDA screen protector on the LCD:)

Aren't PDA screen protectors a little too big for s200 ? Does it stay on there permanently ? elaborate

I have the older S300. Same body though just not as many megapixels and shorter movies. I love it though. I've had it for about 2 years now, I've never had a case for it and I always have the strap on. It's nice because you can slip it in your pant pocket. Barely bigger than a cell phone. It has held up extremely well. No scratches on my lcd. I wouldn't worry about it unless you are really hard on things like this.

cut it down to size;) It is removeable and fairly durable. People use them to protect the outer screens on cell phones (especially the large color ones).

Where did you buy it? Do you recommend any reseller in particular ?

1. Do you keep the wrist strap on or off?
On
2. Do you use the Canon Soft Leather Case?
Yes
Will the leather case cause scratches on the LCD (since it's so snug in there)?
Has not been a problem
Sorry for the stupid questions, I just got this camera and I love it, and would like to take good care of it. I'm a nut that way.
It is a sweet little camera
For those of you who've had the camera for a while, how's the LCD screen holding up?
just fine

s230.

1) yes, i use the wrist strap
2) yes, i use the case

I use the case when I carry the camera in my backpack, but when I want to carry the camera in my pants pocket, I dont use the case. Makes it too thick.

I just got S400 a couple of weeks ago to replace my S200.
Really sleek looking.
I always use the strap and never have a problem with it.
As far as I know, all Digital Elph are made in Japan.

I'm considering either the PSC-50 or PSC-30 case.

s330 here.

1. use the strap
2. used to use the soft case, but then it got old enough and i didn't care anymore and it gets put in one of my pants pockets every morning.

LCD screen is still perfect. although a few of the letter decals have rubbed away.
On the top of the camera it now says: DIG TAL EL H, and the text about the focus is gone, the side writing is no longer discernable. All of the writing on the back is fine though.

I plan on keeping this one for a long time, I even invested in the waterproof case :D
