if i had to pay retail prices for office no question i would do openoffice, but with my univ discount office2k3 is very cheap.

Open Office is great for people who cannot afford $400 or don't get the college special deal.

BTW Open Office 2.0 looks much better from the 1.1 version.

It seems like you can usually get MS Office pretty cheap if you're someone who really needs it (work/school). MS office here.

A stylist implemented as a toolbar (why a palette window, Sun?!) > the Stylist > *.
The stylist is what got me finally ditching my Office 2k.

They need to improve 2.0's performance, and how they work tables, but aside from that, it is looking good, too.

Office can't even come close to the quality of documents that LaTex can produce.
