You see, I also want to go faster than 65 too. So does the guy in front of me. And, the guy in front of him, and the guy in front of him, and the guy in front of him... As far as I know, this string of cars stretches all the way across the country to California and the reason this lane is traveling so slowly is that people are hesitating for a moment before driving into the Pacific Ocean. So, quit flashing your lights and quit driving like an (3 letter word for donkey). Oh, and when you see that 50 yard break in traffic in the right lane and think you're going to zoom past 10 of us again, be assured that we'll close ranks again and not let you succeed in passing on the right.

What's up with these idiots who think they own the road?!

And more observations after driving 1500 miles in a couple days:
Pennsylvania idiots: You aren't supposed to use high beams when there's oncoming traffic.

Why didn't you slam on your brakes on purpose like that 6000 something guy on here and collect a huge insurance scam settlement?

Everybody here on ATOT sided with him that it was perfectly OK to slam on your brakes for no apparent reason.

I'd have moved over and let him pass so I could get behind him and flash my brights at him for the next 100 miles. :p

God knows the guy in front of you wouldn't let him past. ;)

Ever since I got my BMW, people tend to tailgate me a lot more.

If I am going 30 or 80 someone is always riding my ass.

I guess it has to do with the fact that they are thinking to themselves "haha my brand new car cost as much as your used BMW so you think you are so cool don't you. I'll show you"

I don't have the guts to slam my brakes. I don't want to cause some serious road-rage that could end up costing me. Not worth it.

Best thing ever ... people that make quick right turns fro ma side street itno a main road and then decide they need to immediately turn left. In doing such, they cut off a ton of cars when they could have waited 20 seconds for the pack of cars to pass, thus not makign them all stop for no damned reason.

I love the car that turns into the gap in front of the last guy in the pack. That always makes my day. Why didn't you just wait 5 more seconds, you ass. You'd have the whole road to yourself....

Yeah... they're not thinking that, you're thinking that.

so why else would they tailgate me?
There is no reason for it other than to try to piss me off for their own personal enjoyment.

I had a guy not yield at a yield sign and almost run me off the road. I held my horn in for so long I found out that it eventually shuts off on its own. But that's ok, all you have to do is push it down again.

That doesn't really relate to this story, except that if I ended up behind the guy who was flashing his brights at me when I'm stuck behind another car, I'd hold my horn in until it shut off on its own.

See, now I'm going to have to try that out on my car. I feel sorry for the poor bastard that cuts me off tomorrow. :p

then he should have passed them...

if everyone was going that slow, then i guess that's called traffic, in which case the dude flashing his lights and tailing drpizza would be in the wrong.

Exactly, that would be the point of this whole thread.

In Pennsylvania slower traffic is to be on the right and you pass on the left, but there is no going faster than 65MPH if that's the speed limit.

You know people doing 10MPH over the limit does not get you any where any faster. You'd need to be traviling a very very long distnaces or going speeds like 10mph vs 20mph to get any where any faster. BFD if your somewhere 2 minutes sooner.

His point was there were also many cars in front of him. . .he'd have moved over to let this guy pass and then the guy would just be up on the next person's tail. So every single person in the left lane should move over because 1 guy wants to go faster? If that were the case then the leftmost lane was actually created for the sole use of Ricky Bobby and nobody else should drive there, ever.

Shake and bake!

That JUST happened!

many speedometers are actually off.
So when it says you are going 65 you might actually be going 60.

I tested this with my friend's car and she said her car said 80 and mine said 85 but we were traveling at the same speed.

There's a huge difference between hogging the passing lane and driving in the left lane in heavy traffic.

Heavy traffic = no reason to move over. The proof being this: if the guy in front of you had moved over you'd be going faster, which is the same thing the guy behind you is thinking. It's the thing *everybody* in the left lane is thinking, and it wouldn't make a lick of difference if any of them had vacated the left lane.

Different rule apply when traffic is bumper to bumper.

Why didn't you just move over to the right and let him pass you? Then he wouldn't be flashing his lights at you and you don't have to deal with him anymore...

um if someone has an opportunity to pass you on the right, you are a worse jack off for not letting it happen, "just because" as someone else stated, there could be an emergency or something
