I have some work documents on a cd ex. word doc, word pp, jpeg. When I try to open these files either directly from the cd or after I copy them to the hdd they are blank. No error messages or anything. There is no physical damage to the cd. The files are there they all have size to them not just 0.0kb they just can't be viewed can someone help please. (Source files from the original computer are not available)
 
I once burned some backups to a CDRW and couldn't view them on the new PC. The CD appeared to be blank except the data was there by the amount of space available.

It's been a long time but I think it had something to do with the udf encoding the CDRW writer was using to burn versus what I had installed on the new machine. I remeber that I could download some kind of viewer to get the files but I don't know what it is.

Anybody elese know what I'm talking about?
