Open case + XP1800+ No case fans. OK or not?

If I always keep the case open do I need case fans? (No o/c.) When I stick my hand in the case it feels cooler than the ambient temp in the room just due to the P/S fan.

Open case won't hurt a thing, I have a case open but use a cheep small fam blowing on it just to get some air on the other chips inside. Memory, mobo chipset, and video cards also need some airflow. 🙂

From cooling research I have read a closed case with fan is cooler than an open case with fan.
I figure a closed case forces airflow in a set path and keeps the dust out.. However it if works for you then fair play 🙂
