perhaps OPEC should use its oil money to invest in alternative fuel cell technology so that it'll hold the patents and can continue to charge us whatever they want when we drive our cars in the future

ironic that OPEC realizes eventually the world won't need them, when they are a monopoly bent on controlling the world's oil supply. atleast they're nicer then the RIAA...

ex: if everybody drove electric hybrids we would barely need foreign at all

also siemens of germany says its two years away from solar cells that are 10x more cost efficient than today's
japans 0wnz hydrogen fuel cell and electric hybrid technology

US lags way behind in energy technology, for $83 billion u can bet a third of the country could be driving around in ethanol powered cars...

Yeah but for less than 5X that amount we can certainly blow a lot of stuff up.

Personally, I can't wait to see that day come. It would be much better for the US strategically and politically if we did not have to deal with that area or the world. Unfortunately, unless we start really pouring recources into this now, I doubt I will see that day within my lifetime.
