**OP UPDATED May 8th**Need a junction box for 3.5mm speaker and mic lines

I need to tie in multiple headsets into one PC sound card for NetMeetings. Each headset has two 3.5mm stereo jacks; one for its speakers, one for its microphone.

So, I'm envisioning a box (may need to be powered?) that has 4 pairs of 3.5mm recepticles (for four headsets) and two cables with 3.5mm jacks coming out that plug into the speaker and mic recepticles on the PC sound card.

Anyone know if I can buy something like this off the shelf? Or where to look?

Thanks.

Update: USB hub idea seems great. Anyone know how Netmeeting will handle multiple microphones? I don't know why there would be any issues, but I also don't know why there wouldn't be any issues....

Update May 8: Got four USB headsets and a USB hub, but NetMeeting only seems to recognize one headset at a time. Anyone know how to make NetMeeting accept more than one mic input and give more than one audio output? If I have to use another piece of s/w, I'm OK with that.

Thanks for the reply.

I really need something more polished, like an all-in-one. Must be in a box (or maybe two boxes), can't use simple y adapters.

Cost is not important.

all going into one sound card? you will have to have an amplified signal for the mics and speakers. you could use a usb hub and usb headsets.

You are not likely to find anything off the shelf to do that in one box. There is no demand for it. Places that use 4 mics normally use 4 separate inputs on the sound card itself.
It isn't really a complicated piece of circuitry. I could build one for probably under $100, so if you know someone that is good with electronics, it is a fairly simple design.
It is just the places that would need that kind of input want each line to be totally separate and not shared.

You can try using usb headsets. Not sure how many you can put on one pc.

To build such a device you could do this:
http://www.alltronics.com/cgi-...W-Stereo-Amplifier-Kit x 4
http://www.alltronics.com/cgi-...98/KA/Preamplifier-Kit x4
http://www.alltronics.com/cgi-.../92/LMB-Heeger-CR12217 x 1
http://www.allelectronics.com/.../-2-NC-SWITCHES/1.html x 8
http://www.allelectronics.com/...NG-POWER-SUPPLY/1.html x 1
http://www.allelectronics.com/...K-PANEL-MOUNT/-/1.html x 1

Yup. Build it yourself. All the bits you can still get at radioshack. Granted you would buy every 3.5mm connector in that radioshack, but all the pieces you need are there.

I like the USB headset/hub idea best.

Thanks for the responses. USB hub and headsets is a great idea.

Need something that is kinda rugged and can be mounted to a table. Will look around.

Thanks again, all.
