lol, now I don't feel so hot going for that $115 GTX460 HAWK deal...oh well

Don't sweat it, you got more RAM, better cooler, more memory bandwidth.

Even w/o free shipping, I'd probably have ordered one at $77 shipped AR.

I have one of these exact cards in my HTPC. Could be quieter, but I only hear it if I think about it. Sitting on the sofa, can't hear a thing when not gaming.

^^ my 4870 still does a good job at being a hybrid htpc/gaming card. but like you said, during gaming its a freakin hair dryer!

Sent the link to this thread's newegg page to a friend on AIM, he replies at 2am. I hear my Android beep when he replies, see the link and tap it on my phone to se if it might have come "back in stock". It takes me to a Newegg page with a completely different card, a Galaxy GTS450 for $99, also OOS.

Goto the PC, click same exact link, its the Galaxy GTX460 as advertised in this thread.

What goes here?

You must have a completely silent computer + poor sound insulation if you can hear a gtx 460 during gaming or not. Of course, you could just mess with the fan profile if you want it to inaudible.
