I ordered mine on the 9th. No message yet that it was cancelled. I think it is a repackaged Skill. It looks identical to my 18v skill.

I was thinking the same thing birddog about it being a skill. Retail price of the skill is equivalent. Ordered mine on the 10th but havn't received a no-go email yet so fingers crossed.

Can you say bait and switch! When I ordered this drill on the 9th I got a pop up asking if I wanted to buy a vacuum for no extra shipping. Looked like I could use it for my work bence so I said yes. I got the damn cancel e-mail today. Called a CSR and was told that the website has about a 2 hour delay for inventory. I know people who work out of their garages that have their website REAL time with their web sites. Boy those guys suck!

Im in the same boat. Web page says:
Awaiting Shipping Confirmation

I guess I'm loosing confidence in this happening. Ordered 5/9. CSR says it has a "process date" of 5/25, but I (he) wasn't clear on what that really means.

He also said that if an order is not filled within 15 days, that an automated email goes out saying shipments was cancelled even though it may not have really been cancelled. If you get the cancellation e-mail I suggest checking status on web page and/or call in.

Got a question guys for all you drill professionals since I don't know what brand is good or bad and what specs are important but are the ones on this page as good?

h*p://www.heartlandamerica.com/SubCategory/default.asp?Cat=1027&Subcat=1048&Page=1

and worth the price?

I just talked to Customer Service again. They said that my order was not going to be cancelled. They said that the manufacturer told them that I could expect shipment no later than June 14th. When I pointed out to them that the expected arrival date was a month after the order date, they offered to remove the shipping cost. If this pans out, then I will have received the drill for < $15 shipped!

Has anyone received theirs?

Just talked to CSR. Said the same (order placed, just awaiting manuf to ship, estimate 14th). No offer for free shipping. :(

Not a very impressive first purchase with HSN.

I ordered and received this drill a few months ago. It is good for my purposes. If I was a contractor, I'd already HAVE a DeWalt, but I only need one for around the house jobs, so this one fits the bill. Feels a little cheap (plastic feeling) but has done all I've tried with it. Great deal for the price.

I too received the e-mail saying it has shipped. As well, the web page shows that it has shipped and I "should receive it within 7 to 10 days". Woo hoo.

I also received an e-mail saying that I'll be credited $10 (see my first post).

I'm looking forward to my drill now. Hope it comes through for us.

Edit: fixed typo.

As I posted earlier, my first order was cancelled... now I checked in today and the second order is cancelled. I'll try once more by email and then I quit. I don't need a drill that badly anyway.

I got the 'your order has been shipped' E-mail also. I called their 800 number a few weeks ago & complained about the delay. They agreed to remove the shipping charges for me. So my total will be $14.90 shipped. Not too bad.

Well. My saga is finally over....

I received my drill today. HSN charged me the full ~$23. I got an email confirming that they will remove the shipping, but they will have to credit my CC next cycle. Hopefully it comes through.

OK, my saga is almost over too. I had mixed up my order number with the one they cancelled - the order went through and I got the drill yesterday. I haven't drilled with it, but I charged it and it appears to work great and seems like it'll handle anything I can throw at it.
They charged me for the shipping though they said they'd send it free, so I'll pester them and see about refunding the $7.
Even for $22 a helluva deal!

I got my drill as well. :)

For anyone intersted, it is CHEAP (quality and price). There is something rattling around inside the casing. One of the two bits on the top fell out easy. When I tried to slightly bend the hold down piece to see if it would hold it better, the piece broke off. The included drill bits are also low grade that will go dull quickly. The carry case clips are difficult to close.

The instructions said to charge it first, but for no more than 8 hours. When the battery is charged, the red light is supposed to go of leaving only the green light. I charged it for something like 10 hours and the red light never went off. Anyone else see this?

However, for ~$20 its fine. I wouldn't pay more than that for it, though.

On a positive note, it is light and has a good feel in your hand. The mechanisms feel smooth and it responds well. Controls are easy to use and intuitive. I like that the carry case holds the bits secure. I wish the charger were also held down. If it lasts for a year or so, it will be a good investment at the price.

My 2 cents.
