The RT-N12/D1 is a very versatile N300 2.4Ghz 10/100 router, takes DD-WRT, Tomato, AdvancedTomato, FreshTomato, maybe others?

The AC2900, I believe has an encrypted CFE, so the only third-party firmware available for that one, is MerlinWRT. (Still worth it, from what I hear.)

I bought one of the N12/D1 routers a few days ago, and set it up in a WDS node @ 2.4Ghz with my existing Tenda AC18 running FreshTomato.

Well, both OOS @ Newegg. Only "Action Packaged", and they are scalpers, don't patronize them IMHO.
