Advice for this card? I wanted a TV Tuner, and have been shopping around for the ATI TV WONDER VE (which is around $30). The card I have now is an ASUS GF2 MX400. I also have a 2000FP that has been used without DVI. I'm not a big time gamer, so I'm wondering if this card is good enough for my use.

I figure if I was going to spend $30 on the Tuner anyway, might as well spend $79 more to get DVI out and a card with better gaming power.

the DV is good but not awesom for gaming performance anymore and its gonna become a dinosaur pretty soon. Invest in a 9500 if u can, atleast a 9100

Just a word of caution, this is a refurbished item and does not come with the dvi to vga adapter, so if you have a standard analog monitor this wont work.

DVI-VGA adaptor costs $8 w/ free shipping, no biggie. If u ask on the FS/T forum, u'll get one for cheaper. heck, I'll give u one for cheaper too!

For gaming this is not a Hot deal. For someone that works and uses it as TV or Video Edeting this is a great card still!

Question: what is the difference between 8500 and 8500DV other than 8500DV being slower? What the DV stands for? Digital Video?

Not only does it not come with the adapter, it doesn't come with ANYTHING. I got one earlier this week, and though the liner only specifies "No DVI to VGA adapter," it's a bare card (plus, on my invoice, it indicates a "RTL" (Retail) card). I was pretty pissed about it. Why not just leave it at "OEM/Bare Card?" Any other information insinuates it's only missing the one item.

Be warned!
