in, too... couldn't resist... this case is fine for oc'ing... when u put a 120 in front this case has great airflow and is still nice and quiet... the ew psus don't move much air unless they get hot, though...

Whats so great about the PSU? Im sure down the road the PSU will go on sale for less than $40, right now it $50 AR from the egg.

It's a freaking computer case guys, stop freaking about a little chrome bezel.

Case is well worth $75 and is a steal at $50 w/free shipping. These will sell out fast. Get one while you can.

It's my money and I can freak out over it if I don't like it, thank you very little.

Your choice of course, didn't mean to offend.

One suggestion to those that don't like the chrome, a scotchbrite pad works great to scuff down shinny surfaces. Rub in one direction being careful to not cut through the surface finish. You will wind up with a satin finish surface that looks more like brushed aluminum than bright chrome. Haven't tried this on a Sonata mind you but have done it lots of times on various parts.

Good luck.

My apologies for snapping. I couldn't sleep and should not have been surfing. I still haven't bit though! ;)

Again, sorry for seeming upset. Was just tired.

Good idea on the plastic chrome. And if it doesn't work well, you're already presanded for painting! ;)

Yah, there isn't any real need to get another. I decided to pass just because I already ordered two Antecs from frys recently and I've got 2 PSUs and I really don't need anymore unused parts sitting around.

Someone who actually needs this can get in on it.

Someone asked why the PSU is anything special and the reason is that it's 80+, which means it's certified to get at least 80% efficiency and also tends to have more stable power. It's basically equivalent to a 600W cheapo PSU (check the specs on the CM 650W on sale and you'll see it's only marginally better Amps at 150W more). The PSU itself usually costs more than this and actually isn't on sale as much as it would seem lately ($40 is unlikely anytime soon). This case and PSU combo seem to be around $110-140 from pricegrabber, so it's approximately 60-70% off.

If you have any need for this I would get it right now because it's unlikely any other stores will have firesales on Antec. It seems like Frys is clearing out all their old Antec stock, but from what I can tell many of these cases will still be produced and still are selling at other stores for a premium. Frys will occasionally have firesales like this on various components to clear them out. Once they're gone the parts usually are no longer offered by Frys, but usually are available from other sellers for much more. And a lot of people who order late get cancelled. So if you need a case and PSU, get it.

I used a Sonata version one case for a few years and thought it was nice. The sideways hard drive rack makes installing drives a snap. Drives have soft grommets as well which knocks down on the seek noise if that's important to you. Considering the size of the case the 120mm fan in back, plus ps fan of course, is plenty. No real value in creating a wind tunnel but you could with another fan in front.

My only real complaint with my old Sonata was dust accumulation, hopefully Antec improved the filter sealing in the front. Ordered one so we'll see. :)

Ordered one so I can take all my components out of my P180 and install in this case.

That leaves my P180 free to take on the new Abit P35 mobo and e8400 I just purchased from Mwave.

All I need to purchase now is a cheap video card to install with my older component, as I'm going to keep my 7800GTX for the time being. If the 8800GT Superclock comes down some more I'll buy one of those.

Thanks OP.

jonny guru gushing on the ew500...

Should I yank out the PSU on the Sonata & use my HX520?

Not necessarily, but if the HX520 is just lying around doing nothing then go for it. Otherwise the EA500 is a fine psu with enough 12V power for a C2Q and a single high end video card.

Nice post. Was just about to click "Confirm Order" on NewEgg, when I decided to check here for other PSU's. Glad to get a free case for the same $50 price!

Only reason I ask is because it's already mounted in my CM690 which this is replacing.
I'm running an E6300, 7900GT, 2-SATA optical drives & 2-SATA hard drives.

check back midnight PST/3am EST and if there's another Antec up, I'll post it... as long as I have any cellphone reception!

looks like there's nothing being offered (maybe only last week I guess). I tried adding a bunch of different ones to the cart, but none are discounted. Usually the discount would show up by now... just not the free shipping.

I'll check somemore when I get home and am on my comp rather than my smartphone and can check in more detail... but it looks like the deals may be over :\

Damnit! Fry's just canceled my order. They ran out of these wonderful bundles of joy. Hopefully they didn't charge my credit card yet.

Anybody else have their order canceled today?
