I've tried a complete cygwin install on 2 windows machines and it always craps out when installing xorg. On the other one I've actually seen it eat up all 1gb of RAM, virtual memory, etc, to the point where it kills every windows process to try and continue.

Heh I've had some pretty bad crashes running WoW and DC++ together. One of them has a memory leak, and I think its DC++. One time I had them both running and all of a sudden my cursor disappeared. At that point a group of elite werewolves start chasing me so I'm running away semi-blindly, then eventually I bluescreen and restart... apparently all my memory was eaten up and my system died

Agreed, but I manage the cygwin support for our software so I need to deal with it .

It's definitely DC++. When I leave that on for days at a time, my computer slows to a crawl.

I'm sorry. :(

SFU is so much better, even if it is a Microsoft product (built on BSD technology).

Heading to work right now. If you're around in 15 minutes, I'd like to talk to you about it.

I should be "around." At work now, so it might take me a few minutes to get back to you or something. :p
