I was playing hockey last night and was crashing the boards behind the net for the puck. My plan was to pick up the puck while doing a crossover and come out for the wrap around, but I tripped on the goal line, and slammed into the boards w/ my right side full force. I spent the next 3 hours in the ER. I guess the only good thing to come of this is I get two days off from work. I swear, this is probably one of the worst bones you can break because there isn't much other than a sling and some pills they can do for you.

Looks like I'll have plenty of Neffing time :)

I recently broke my wrist snowboarding, my sympathies to you. I lucked out as far as broken bones go.

I think you are letting the other hockey players down. You should be back out on the ice tonight. Those NHL folks are tough and wouldn't let a little collar bone hold them back from playing, why would you? :p

Seriously though, I don't know how some of the hockey players do it, they get the sh1t kicked out of the but they keep on playing.

I broke my collar bone a long time ago. It does suck since you can't really put cast on it. Just somethign to keep your shoulders back and try not to move the one arm but other than that, not much can be done.

Really suck when you are laying down and try to get up since your neck muscles strain to keep your head up which puts pressure on the collarbone. I think I slept in a recliner for a whiel after that happened.

Try this one on for size - I broke mine playing racquetball, diving into the wall. I managed to score the point, though. :)

Well I picked up my prescription for hydrocodone (sp?) today, and I also picked up some calcium supplements. Question on the supplements, can one get too much calcium and vitamin D in their diet or is it like vitamin C and whatever you don't use, your body disposes of?
