Side note: Do plastic knuckles work? I know they don't carry the same weight as brass or metal, but they would stop the compression of the fist, yes?

They'd probably shatter under the force of a real punch and then you have a broken hand full of shards of plastic.

Wait, so brass knuckles are illegal, but guns arn't? wtf is wrong with the US? If you're going to make guns legal fine, but don't go making less powerful weapons illegal, it makes no sense. I'd be more scared of someone with a gun then someone with brass knuckles.

do brass knuckles possibly serve ANY OTHER purpose than to harm a human being?

One could argue people collect guns just for display, but I'm sure EA's intent on the brass knuckles was the same. Though they should have probably researched the law a bit more before doing that. 😛

What might that be? Self Defense? Brass knuckles could be used for self defense, too.

Display, collection, self defense, skill honing, tactical advantage, peace keeping, life saving, etc.
If you're going to make the (assinine) leap to "guns kill people" then this thread is headed for another epic fail train wreck.
