Damn, these Shox suck! I jumped off a 6 foot stage and it hurt like hell. The shox didn't even take my shock! Those Boing commercials are misleading:frown:

uhm... unless you have 200 inches of padding on those shoes... it's gonna hurt to jump from 6 feet up.

When they put on the DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME warning, you don't read that do you?

I jumped off a 10 foot wall and my Reebok classics took the shock. hahaha, no SSP, I was running from somebody and I thought jumping from the stage would be faster than going down the stairs. I guess these shox are just for looks:eek:

Umm, earth to boi...those aren't pneumatic shock absorbers on your feet, genius.
Nowhere in Nike's ads did they say or imply that you could jump off huge ledges and have the impact reduced by the shoes. The shox system compresses when you are about to jump and give you bigger air, which is exactly what the Boing commercials showed.

In addition, when you jump off a high area, you have to absorb the shock by bending your knees as you land.

Huh? Jumping from 6 ft is no big deal. The only time I've been hurt from jumping down before was when I was wearing mud boots without much padding and I jumped from an 8 ft roof. And then my legs/feet just felt sore for a little bit afterwards. Jumping from 6 ft should be no problem, especially if you are wearing some shoes that claim to have pads and shock-absorbtion mechanisms.

:D Sorry...I come from a background of spelling things correctly and what not and never really cared for that song... It's nothing personal to you since you didn't sing that schlock. ;)

in 8th grade PE we did tumbling. at the end of the unit everyone had to jump off a 20 foot platform to one of those 2-inch hard tumbling mats. no one got hurt, he trained us well. scary as hell though, when you're standing on the edge.

You have to weigh a certain amount, there is a ratio of weight to shoe size for the shocks to work at all.

Hell I wouldn't even jump in a pool at 20 feet let alone a hard mat, lol.

Do you realize how high 20 feet is? That's asking for a leg breaking.
I think it might have been closer to 8-10 feet, if not 6. I took judo for several years and they never made us tumble from more than 6 feet up. 20 feet is like the high diving board at the swimming pool.

Yea, my bunk beds are about 6 ft or so and I jump down too. But to expect to just jump down straight and feel nothing is plain stupid.

Never did like nike. Trashy over priced sweatshop shoes. Try New Ballance.

why don't you just glue giant springs to the bottom of some converse all stars if you're gonna do something dumb with shoes?
