This morning I wake up in my bed in a hotel in Plano, TX to hear water running.

I ignore it as perhaps the toilet is running, etc., but when I get up, the sink is on FULL force.

No idea how that happened. Either someone broke in and turned it on, or somewhere in the middle of the night I woke up and washed my hands or something and forgot to turn it off.

I just wasted a LOT of water I'd say 100+ gallons
