DEAL DEAD!

I waited too long to order (12pm CDT), and I got an email this afternoon saying "Your order has been canceled due to item being out of stock".

So, my order's dead, and I don't think it'll be offered again. Congrats to those who got in on it!

Looks like I got through... :)

They show my order as being processed, and I ordered it within 2-3 minutes of the first post so I am hoping it makes it.

Thanks SW!

I think my order might have gone through since it was among the first.

Currently says IN PROCESS.

That's funny, I was just able to order this. My order status is now "In Process". Perhaps later today I will get an email saying it is backordered or OOS.

Well, its a crap shoot. Still, $75 rebate off of a $50 total cost is great. I'm getting paid to buy it!

Ok, wishfull thinking.

I highly doubt that Kodak is going to give you the $75 just because you can find it for more money SOMEWHERE on the web rather than the price you paid. They specifically require a copy of the invoice so I think they will use that instead of the inflated price of some store where you did not actually buy the product. But best of luck.

Well, this was what I WAS going to do. Buy 1 from Outpost and then buy 1 from Amazon. Just photocopy the invoice from Amazon as your invoice of choice -- thus insuring the >$200 price -- and send it back to them the next day - thank you very much. I consider this just reward for filling my Gold Box with your crappy kitchen supplies and damned power tools.

A lesser man could have bought 3 from Outpost and 3 from Amazon and made around $100 on the whole deal. But that is for you folks to debate.

Use my advice for a sure-fire $75 or complain about those damned CSRs later that just lie to you to get you off the phone. Then again you may get lucky.

Enjoy.

APS only. APS is ~24mm i think. usually the film is 400 or 800 speed. and its expensive at amazon.

as for easy to use, my elph (which was defective) was harder to load than my SLR. :p if you screw up loading the SLR, it tells you, you realign it, and you try again. the elph screws up loading all you can do is pray.

Ahhhh mine also shows shipped with a tracking number. This is going to work out great, we are taking a mini vacation next week and doing some cycling and I didn't want to haul the wifes digital around with me.

Thanks again SW!

LDegrelle,
It doesn't matter what you actually paid for the item, it's the RETAIL price that has to be over $200. You could have paid $1.00, but Kodak establishes the retail price, it's not set by what some retailer/etailer sells it for. If Kodak says the retail is $XXX, that is what is important.

ElFenix,
APS film is also available in ISO 200-speed (Fujifilm), and Wal-Mart has great prices on Fuji APS film ($6 for a 3-pack of 25 exposure rolls). Yes, it is 24mm, but I want to know how you can screw up loading a roll of film in an APS camera??!!!! All you do is drop the roll in the cartridge hole - and it only goes in one way. In fact, I thought it was impossible to load it improperly.

From reading Hotdeals.com, it appears that the C-800 is valid for the $50 dollar rebate on that form. Someone on that site actually contacted Kodak about it, and so it appears that this camera will be free after rebate. Of course, this depends on whether Kodak is lying or not ;)

I know the other members who made an input to this post have been dying to know how the rebate story turned out for me, so I will share my experience which ended today. As stated below, I did buy two of these Kodak Advantix cameras (read thread) and YES, I did receive two $75 rebates from Kodak (got the 2nd one today). So, $126 spent on two cameras, but $150 back in rebates; that's what I call a good deal!

I ordered one of these and then realized I shouldn't have since I already have 3 digicams and 1 35mm camera.

If anyone wants it, it's yours for $50 shipped via USPS Priority with insurance and delivery confirmation.

Brand spanking new, retail still shrink-wrapped, never opened, still even have the Outpost.com box which I'll ship it to you in.

PM me if interested.
