With the Onvia $25 coupon + 5% Pointclick, it comes to about $76.25. I hope I have
the same luck as guys who got them the buy.com deal.

Onvia link
here!

Guys, here's an update: Received Celeron 633 today from Onvia, FPO/BATCH# Q032A390

Updated BIOS on Abit BH6 (1.01) to latest SS version
Used dab of Radio Shack thermal grease on stock heat sink.
Used MS-6905 Slocket (2.3 Revision...also from Onvia)

1st Try: 950 MHz at 1.65V...Lock up after POST
2nd Try: 950 MHz at 1.70V....Post...VXD Error While booting into Win98 Safe Mode.
3rd Try: 950 MHz at 1.75V...Post...Boot into Win98 Safe Mode....Blue Screen of Death.
4th Try: 950 MHz at 1.80V...Post...Boot into Win98 Successful. Boot into Win2000 Successful. I'm still running at 950 MHz right now while updating this thread. I'll
need to run some test before declaring success....It's getting late now, so I'll wait
till this weekend to test further. All in all, so far so good...guess my sister is getting my old Celery 300A @ 450 now.

Good luck guys and good night.

stonerdave - Yes it appears this is the retail kit, the model number matches up exactly with Buy.com's description and even has a picture.

Could someone post or e-mail me some links to some other deal sites. Ones that may or may not have coupons posted. Thanx-Charlie

Are 633s Coppermines and are they good overclockers?

I have a Celeron 566@877 and was wondering if the 633 overclocked would be a better performer.

That's a good question...My MS-6905 Convertor board has a jumper for Coppermine 256K. I left
the jumper as open...I wonder if I should have enabled it?

Anyways...I'm at 950MHz now @1.8V...need to run some stability test. Anyone remember seeing
an article for running a Celeron 533 @ 800 on an ABIT BH6? I thought I'd check out the BIOS
settings.

Tonix - Is it correct to say that your cel 633 worked ok with the jumper
J3 set to single? I've been trying to use it with my msi 6182 board
with J3 on coppermine and the board hangs before the processor initialization.

No flames please. I know its not the mobo forum, just asking about his jumper
setting cause it was brought up here.

UPDATE:
Running at 950 with retail HS and fan 1.8v. I just manually set the voltage at the slocket, instead of leaving it at auto and changing it at bios. This is great. Ran 3dMark few times and no crash yet. =) I will try to lower the voltage little now.

950mhz
1.65 No boot
1.70-1.75v i am not sure, not tested
1.8v seems like stable

83bus runs without problem at 1.65v

mobo asus p3b-f
slocket iwill slocket II

hope that you have better luck then i do.

Just got mine from ONvia. On ABIT slotket ( set to default ) - my computer bios sets default voltage as 1.75 (?) .
Boots to 950 with stock h/s fan !!!!!
Only 35 point increase on 3Dmark2000 ( from 2615 to 2650 ) from previous 600@900. I expected more but not complaining.
All overclocking should be this SWEET!

Just got my Celeron II 633 from Onvia this afternoon. Runs perfectly stable with stock heatsink @950 at 1.85v. Tried but won't even POST at 103 fsb. The chip is running on my Abit BH6 1.1 with Abit slocket. Nice cheap upgrade to replace my old celeron 300A @ 450.

Well, I must be a lucky one. Flashed the BH6 to SS bios, set the volts to 1.75, and booted up in turbo mode. Running 979Mhz!!! Prime 95 says its stable so far (1 hour) running at 32C. What a sweet chip!!!
Of course WCPUID doesn't quite get that it is a Celeron ;)

BTW, Golden Orb, silver heatsink compound.

Whooopeeee!
