Onvia.com has the ELSA Erazor X2 for $135.36. For some reason the Erazor X is $162.43??? Anyway here is the link:
Elsa Erazor X2

Anyway, this is a great deal. It is going for some crazy amount at Buy.com and 158.99 at Egghead.

By the way..Onvia.com has free shipping if you didn't know.

My friend price matched with staples w/ a $25 off $75 and got the card for ~$116. Just letting you know that it can be done on this deal. Thanks yakswak.

As far as I know it is retail. I bought an Erazor X from them 2 months ago and it was retail. My friend is trying the staples pricematch right now. I will let you know how it turns out.

Sorry about the post I just made the price listed first is correct. I was searching for a coupon to get an even better deal 😀, but some how my browser was loading the Canadian verson so the price was higher.

Can anyone comment on the quality of this card? Do you think I could get a much better one for only $30-40 more? I'm not too sure on all of the different types of video cards and options. Am I going to be regretting not spending an extra $20 later because I'm missing something cool? Anyone...anyone...Buehler...Ferris Buelher

Stonythug,
To my knowledge next best thing after this would be a geforce 2. The best price I found on that was a creative annihilator 2 at buy.com for about $210.

Finished Ordering it online from Staples.com

Price Matched it with ONVIA.com $135,

and used coupon #90690 (good til 12/31) for $25 off....

total $116

Not A Bad deal...

Thanks for the info

I went looking for some reviews and this is what I've found so far

Hardware central comparing Erazor X vs. Erazor X^2 (SDR vs. DDR) but shows some bencharks
and comments on the cards

Sharky Extreme Review (note the date, it is an old review)

This card seems kindof old which is my only concern. When it first came out, it looked like it was very good, but now I'm wondering how it's holding up against the newer cards.

You make a V\very good point Stoneythug. From what I've read, this card may only be slightly statistically better than the Geforce MX cards. If you happen to get a price match and coupon thru staples CSR's, then it would be a good deal, but I would think that in the next few weeks Geforce MX deals will be available for even better prices. I am in the market for such a card, but I will hold out 'til I get some more input from others here. The difference between this card and an MX probably wouldn't be noticed in speed, but maybe in software, outputs, or support.

It is a lot better than a Geforce 2 MX. Here is a chart:

Sharky Extreme

If you think the card is old, that is great but what it comes down to is price and performance. The next best thing is over $200 and performs only slightly better. If you feel like you need to spend a lot of money and get the best card out, buy a geforce 2 ultra. They will cost around $400.

Go to the link I posted and look at the chart. Voodoo is now doo doo. Basically, 3dfx is getting out of the video card business. It would be stupid to buy one anyway because drivers are never going to be updated. The Voodoo card is about as good as an old TNT2 card.

DeathscytheHELL

you should PM and then add something to get over $150 and use $40 off coupon rather than $25 off

with this way, you end up the same price and get stuff worth of $15 for free.

just a thought.

Alright probegt21, you convinced me. This really does look like a phat deal. I figure if I can just use this for 6 months and then upgrade with the $100 I saved. This baby should definitely hold me over for a while. Thx for the deal. -Stony

dont count 3dfx out yet.... they are still the best in glide and in fsaa mode. I wish that damn glide would just go away but so many great games run on it still...... the v5 5500 is still the best all round card for all types of games and yes i know its not the fastest just most compatable to all game types. news at comdex today states they are not dead yet. i run a radeon but am putting in a $150.00 v5 5500 untill glide dies or i get tired of the games that run on glide. just my 2 cents.

Just about to talk me into it 🙂 Guess I can't pass it up when I'm lookin' a nice graphics card. Staples will get a call from me in a few 🙂
