Onvia celeron 633 hitting 950 easy!

950 at 1.75 Volts. 6 hours cpu stability tested/3dmark 2000.

Reports on fatwallet and anad forum confirm this recent batch is hitting 950 and higher with ease!

I'm not too greedy and my cheap ($38 soyo) motherboard doesn't have all the steps my bf6 did, so i will probably try 103 and stick with it!

BTW, the bottom of this celeron does not look like the bottom of my celeron 533 ! it has many many more transistors attached to it compared to the 2 or 3 of the 533. just an FYI.

Good job. Just got my 566 celly to 952. Not sure what voltage. My board doesnt have adjustments. Not sure if I want to try higher. The board is a gigabyte ga-6vxe7.

112 X 9.5 (1060) does not post at 1.85v.

nah. it was too hard to put on, i was lazy and didnt feel like removing my slotket , the gorb was twist-on

The celeron heatsink looks pretty killer for stock.

when i get my bf6 back, this puppy is going to 1ghz

I went to fatwallet.com,clicked on coupons,went to onvia,and there it is,a 20.00 coupon.I ordered two cel 633's Sunday and they arrived today.Both do 950@1.70vlts with stock cooling.They cost me 80.25 each.And shipping was FREE.There isnt a better,cheaper way to upgrade an abit bh6.I did have to flash its bios to the new ss version.And getting the heatsink on was a minor hassel.

He he.. i just bought a C566. Reatches 875MHz at 1.5. At 952MHz (1.6Volts 112MHz bus) i got an protection error before windows finished loading. Didn't trye it higher, but since you guys are running it at 1.8V i'll trye 1.7 and see if i get any luck. Anyway, i'm very happy with it performing so well at default voltage I'm using an EKL hsf.

Just got mine yesterday. I'll put a 55W peltier & waterblock on it. Let see if I can hit 1 gig. My old P2B mobo can only go down to 1.8 volt, so I have to overclocks it

Mine did 950 out of the box @ 1.75 volts- with retail hs/fan.

What is wierd is that I was playing around with 3dmark2000 - I switched out motherboard - old motherboard was Abit BXver2 and new motherboard is Abit VT6x4. In short 3dMark2000 fell from 2650 to 2230. Can this be right? I realize one uses INTEL and the other VIA chipsets, do you think something in bios on the VT6x4 should be checked? I gotta play with this some more - I don't think there should be that much difference.

This is the sweetest o/c chip I ever played with. Gonna get some more!

Up a few:

VIA chipsets blow compared to BX. The BX is still the all time fastest chipset there is (considering it runs overclocked too).

So yes, thats probably why the via boards are so much cheaper, they are slower, more buggy, require driver disks, and slower again

I went from BX to an ASUS P3V4X. No speed drop for me...what are you talking about?

the VIA boards have more options and tweaks and will ultimatley let you overclock more. It's more stable too...and I had a BX board known for it's stability (AOpen AX6BC). Just a 566@850 now (which runs at 0.1v less on the VIA board) but I plan on a 700e@933+ soon. I'll also be able to keep my old RAM if I can achieve the higher bus speeds since VIA boards can go asyncronous...not to mention AGP 4x for the near future.
