I am a bit lost here. In SetiSpy my Cycles per Flop is only 4.94 compared to a Barton 512KB L2 which does a much better 4.2. According to that my Barton 3200+ is performing worse then a Duron. :(

Athlon XP 3200+ @ stock speeds because it's really a 2500+
512MB Corsair XMS PC3200LLPT (don't know timings because mobo won't let me set tightest timings without crashing. :()
Asus A7N8X-X with nForce2 400 chipset

What is going wrong here? Usually this thing runs in WindowsXP with nothing else going on so I am a bit lost.

I don't know where you got 4.2 for the Barton from ,my SETISpy says 4.8 & thats for a Dual DDR rig.

Mine is supposed to be 5 but it's 4.42:D
RAM timings affect that figure btw ,you must be able to see what they are set to atm can't you? ,also can't you tighten the timings without going the full hog?
Yeah & what WU times are you getting?

Well i know that personally when using SetiSPy & that rating system my times were everwyehere...at one point it was saying that my P4C 2.8 system was LOWER than a K6-2 450....I have learned to ignore it :D

oh, and its not OT..its On Topic :)

I don't know my memory timings. I can't set them manually in the BIOS or the system crashes. :( SO I set the system to Aggressive Memory Timings and I am going to contact Asus on Monday.

You can't even set them higher? (just for testing purposes)

That's wierd ,I have the earlier dual channel version of your mbrd (Asus A7N8X Nfrc2) ,& I can set a whole range of RAM timings ,maybe it doesn't like your RAM???

So what WU times are you getting?

That CpF figure can be misleading. Do you have the "Show instantaneous performance" button checked on the 'Performance' page? Look at it with it checked & unchecked & it will show 2 different figures.
It also depends on where you are in the processing. You probably looked at it somewhere in the middle of the processing, where it's slower. Look at it towards the beginning or the end of the processing & you computer will be at the top of the list. :D

Probably better off running a benchmark WU to compare your computer with others.

Team Lambchop's Benchmark File
Read the instructions & let 'er rip!

Then compare to these pages;
Team Lambchop's Benchmark Page - not updated recently(April 2002)
Roelof's Unofficial BM Page - at least it's been updated this year

Between 2-3Hours per WU. But that doesn't take into account when I play BF1942 all weekend long.

2-3 hrs per WU is about right for a 3200+

I would say that's on the slow side actually ,though it could be the gaming that's increasing times. How about WU times without any games runing alongside?
Btw I says its a tad slow because my XP1700 @2.04GHz ,Nfrc2 mbrd,177FSB,CAS 2.5-2-2-6,dual channel rig does average WUs (0.4xx AR) in about 2hrs 28mins ,fastest ones in about 2hrs10mins ,slows ones about 2hrs 40mins.An XP3200 should be quicker ,more cache & faster FSB.
Dual channel only knocks off about 5mins/WU inccidently so its not that.

[edit]guess who's at No17 on that Top 200 list?:D

going off topic here, what servers do you frequent, and what's your user name? I too am on all the time mostly on the ea servers as lobadobadingdong. (currently I'm crazy for the phillipines)

Well He said 2-3 hrs which is a pretty large window. I translated that more to mean somewhere in between. Most of my WUs take about 2hrs 10 minutes or so. A few have taken as much as 2hrs 30mins and a few have been as low as 1hr 50mins if i remember right. My guess is he is right about where he should be. I see the stats page says he is averaging just under 4hrs/WU so I would have to guess he really doesn't know how long it is really taking. I would say the majority of his WUs aren't getting exclusive use of the cpu for much of their processing time.

I use <[AT]>PorBleemo *Uber* for my name. Typically I'm on the most full DC or Interstate servers but I do occasionally play Phillipines. :p

A lot of those stats are from my old XP 1700 which had to share also.

Give us a WU time for a 0.4xx AR WU with no gaming & then we can have a real idea;)

Nice rig btw NesuD ,1hr50! :D
