Anyone here used to read comics? when I was younger my friends and I used to pit different characters together
and try to figure out who would win I have nothing to do so I thought I'd try it here

I use to be a collector but I can't recall Onslaught. Was he DC, Marvel, or Image?

Marvel and he's the guy who wasted the xmen the avengers and the hulk

Is Onslaught a recent character? I just looked through my Marvel supervillains from a couple years back and he wasn't in there.

He appeared in 96 I believe

Alright, I found everything about him Here and here's the synopsis In the conclusion Onslaught: Marvel Universe Onslaught is about to destroy Professor X when the X-Men show up just in time and are soon joined by the Fantastic Four, Avengers, and the Hulk. Just when they think the Hulk has beaten Onslaught, there is an explosion and the Hulk lays on the ground with Bruce Banner beside him. Onslaught becomes pure energy and in order to defeat Onslaught they need something solid to hit so the Fantastic Four, Avengers, and Bruce Banner sacrifice themselves by charging into the energy and then the X-Men hit them with everything they have destroying Onslaught. In the aftermath, the X-Men while having saved the captured Nate Grey and Franklin Richards, have apparently destroyed the self-sacrificing the human heroes.

<< superman. come on, i mean, its superman! >>

Supes was killed before by doomsday

Of course he did come back

Superman wasn't dead, just incredibly low on energy so he needed the sun's energy to recharge him.

SPeaking of, is there any site that has a synopsis of comic book storylines? I'd like to know what major events happened in the 8 years I haven't been collecting comix.

Ok.....Ive done this argument many times, so Ill just get down to the nitty gritty, and all my arguments will be at current powerlevels (well..we havent seen Onslaught in a while, so Ill use his powerlevel then of course). Im discounting supermans ability to pull a superpower (or new powerlevel) out of his ass to help him defeat anything he comes up against.

Onslaught was NEVER destroyed. There is still the possibility that he will return. And it took a majorly pissed off Hulk (who has the potential to make superman look like a three year old etheopian in the strength department) to even crack his physical shell, which only made him stronger. And I doubt even Hulk could have done that unless Onslaught was busy with all the other heros. Im not convinced Superman could even crack Onslaughts shell. Why, you ask? Well, Onslaught got his physical power from the Gem of Cytorrak (Juggernauts source of power) and this is Magic. Superman has NO power over magic. When it comes to magic, Supes has nothing but a regular old human-level defense to it.

So how would Supes defeat Onslaught? You tell me, cause I sure as hell cant see a way.

*sorry for the choppy argument....Ill be back later for any quesitons on my logic, I gotta go take a grumpy*

<< You and me both brudda, it's been about 6 years for me. >>

Ive just been back collecting for a year now, after about a decade long hiatus. Even at 10 years old I got tired of all the crap generated by the collectors boom. Plus the fact that I hated McFarlane, and that was during his rise.

Blah, stupid McFarlane! IM GLAD THAT BASEBALL IS ONLY WORTH THE MATERIALS ITS MADE OF NOW! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I just fell right back into collecting mainly because I wanted to check out what Kevin Smith was doing with Green Arrow (one of my long time faves) and ended up falling into an online forum of comic-book uber-geeks over at WizardWorld.com

And then theres the fact that I landed a job at a comic shop 😉

I just did a search and could find no other reference to Onslaught outside of Marvel Universe
X-Men
Epilogue
which evidently took place in 1997 so as to his returning, it could happen.......and monkeys could fly out of your butt 😛

Hey, Im a newly reborn comic geek, what do you expect from me regarding a character I wish I was around to witness when he was created?

Plus, I totaly hate how they are treating superman now. I love the superman character, but they are turning him into an ubergod who can do anything.

I wont even get STARTED on what they are doing with Green Lantern. GOOD LORD!
