Wow...I feel so fresh and so clean, clean.

On a more serious note, do you sometimes feel that threads don't get the attention they deserve because of the high volume in OT?

It's kind of frustrating to see your legitimate thread with a real question in it go unanswered while some bs nef thread that was created at the same time quickly skyrockets to 50+ responses. :disgust:

Average age of an ATOT'er = 7

Average IQ of an ATOT'er = 73

As I have said many times before, ATOT turned into an AOL kiddie chatroom about a year ago.

Really? I hardly noticed.

I guess you're not including yourself in these groups. It's just everyone else is a kid and dumb? There is a large number of intelligent, mature posters on ATOT.

It's much better without all those stickies.

The problem could easily be fixed.
1.) Ban the word repost. If anybody tries to be creative and get around the filter by using rep@st or r3post or something they get a 2 week vacation.
2.) Make posts in OT not count toward your post count. Only posts in the other forums would count. This would show how helpful a person really is on these "computer hardware discussion forums"
Will this happen? Probably not. If anything repost would probably be filtered out before the postcount++ posts went away.

That would bring some meaning back to the post count.

That is an excellent idea.

Yah, I was thinking the same thing.

Sticky posts kind of lose their meaning if there are a dozen of them up top. I like it the bare hones approach. It's probably a fluke.

I wonder if they can even make posts in 1 forum not count toward the post count? I know it can be done in vbulletin... dunno about fusetalk though.

Not really, since post count is meaningless. I would prefer if there were no post count at all.

Point to a thread where I yelled;

REPOST !

YAGT, should I ask her out ?

Do you poop in the morning ?

This girl just flirted with me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Etc,etc,etc.

I'll admit that I have yelled REPOST! once, and I've had it yelled at me so I won't EVAR do it again. There is a lot of crapping on people's threads these days, and it has started to bring down the morale of these forums.

As far as the YAGT's go. I think that some people don't have friends that can give them solid advice. There is a lot of wisdom in these forums, ranging from technical to relationships. I am happy to give somebody advice that asks for it. I'm no expert by any means, but if people can learn from my mistakes, instead of making the same ones and regretting it, I'm happy to give it.

There have been a few threads lately asking why ATOT is so boring now. I think it's because people don't feel like posting anymore, because there is always a troll sitting, waiting for somebody to voice an opinion and putting them down for it.

Sorry, went way off subject in this but I just started typing and you know how it goes when you have a train of thought, that you just have to put down on paper/keyboard.

Now there's like 7 stickies, I liked it better when there was just the network unemployment thread stickied.

so, were you:

a. Just browsing threads from a month back and came across this one
b. Going to post this exact thread, and did a search like a responsible ATOTer, to avoid a repost
c. Or do you just have a real good memory of old threads?

😛 😉
