With 20W, anywhere from 93 to 115 dB SPL, depending upon the car, install, etc. An 18 would probably cover that same range, perhaps as high as 117 dB.

115 is plenty for me.

The first point I brought up, however, was that larger drivers need LESS power.
The second point was that folks generally don't need all the power they think they do.

I could have sworn you were saying how the bass has to be louder than the treble or else the overall signature of the sound would be harsh?
