HayaBusRider, Hi there..

I think the human is genetically predisposed to terminate "stuff" in part to consume or use for other consumptive purposes but mainly to sate the need to simply terminate something with out a "constructive" purpose as its end. The environment facilitates this insatiable desire... often and when circumstances are such that the human is stymied in this pursuit he finds other means... albeit artificial... like video games... or overcomes nature inadequacies by creating war or at least supporting its purpose... Making of the tools to effect this is simply demand at work... AK47's don't leave much pigeon to consume but they are in demand.
Perhaps tangential to the theme.. but what occurred to me as i read.

If people really had to eat what they kill . . .

it would make drivers more responsible.

It would have been more cool if they were doin Archery.

Hunting with a gun is as easy as grocery shopping, I bagged a Deer and Antilope first day for each season with Rifle (The Antilope was less then 10 minutes walking away from the vehicle). Gave that up cause it was too easy, started Archery, 4 seasons and I finally got a nice Muledeer out east of Fort Collins CO. Came up on me in a dry bed about 23 yard shot. Rifle you don't even have to be in the same zipcode.

Hunting is fine. I've never gone hunting, but I see nothing wrong with it...though I found his "liberal" comment absolutely ridiculous and it makes me question his IQ. If anything, hunters (NOT those who hunt for sport) would be on the "tree hippie" side because if you love it I can easily see how a bond between a hunter and the land he hunts on form. Therefore he wouldn't WANT it replaced with shopping malls, and 1000 house complexes! Besides, how can he hunt if the land is abused and polluted, etc? It would be in their INTERESTS to help keep the land preserved.

Though personally, I would have reservations on hunting bears. Is their population that great to where we need to "cull" the population? Generally I would be opposed to bear hunting.

Nothing wrong with hunting, though I've never tried it myself. We're omnivores by Nature not the tree-hugging vegans the neo-hippies think we should be.

Right. And we're also sexual animals by nature. Nothing wrong with sex. So I think parents should let their children watch as mom and dad have sex in the bedroom. In fact, let's have little Janie help daddy put on his condom. Thumbs up to any parents who help their children learn about sex.

Or are you one of those tree-cutting, steak-chomping, neo-nazis who think that sex is evil?

I don't like hunting at all. How hypocritical is it to say that hunting develops an "appreciation for nature" when what you are basically doing is disturbing and murdering nature?

If you're gonna hunt, I say do it like nature intended. With your bare-hands or a crude weapon like a knife or spear. That evens the match up and makes it a real "sport". You can't call anything a sport when the game is one-sided. And remember, bring a video camera and a buddy to do the taping of the match so we can watch the bear maul your ass.

Are we really omnivores by nature? Strip away all the unnatural things that help us hunt down animals and kill them. Then what do we got? All we got is our intelligence. The human diet, as intended by nature, should consist primarily of fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, legumes, etc. Meat from animals should only be consumed in times of desperation when all other food resources are exhausted.

Take a look at a lion's intestine and you'll notice how extraordinarily short it is compared to that of a humans. That is due to the fact that the lion its the flesh of other animals and relies on a digestive system that can quickly process the nutrients from the meat and throw it out before it becomes a poisonous mess inside the body. Now look at the human intestine and you'll notice how long it is compared to that of the lion's. The fact that it is so long is proof that meat was never meant to be a centerpiece of the human diet because it takes soo much longer to process and excrete. We all know that dead flesh rots faster than vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, grains, etc.

But that is a whole nother argument.

Hunters with guns are pussies. Level the playing field and then see what happens. Don't forget the camcorder.

Bear tastes like pork, kind of on the greasy side.

Nope, the Janet Jackson Boobgate was one of America's saddest days in sexual cowardice, topped only by spending $50 million to investigate Clinton's sex life.

But of course your exaggeration for effect would be child abuse and would only make sense as an analogy if the girl in this story was finishing off the losers in bumfights (blam!)
