Ok so I want to buy a PS3 game, and I only have enough money for 1 game. I want to get an RPG, but I'm having trouble finding a clear winner on the PS3. I don't like turn based or strategy RPGs on consoles(that's what my DS is for), so my only option is an action RPG.
These are the games I've played and liked

Oblivion
Sacred 2
Borderlands

I've been looking into Star Ocean the last hope, dragon age, demon's souls, but maybe you guys know of more games that might be of interest.

Help would be appreciated

How about Fallout 3? You can find it for pretty cheap or buy the GOTY edition and get all the DLC on the disc.

not that I've played any of these, but I'd lean towards Fallout 3 or Dragon Age.

Fallout 3 is turn-based, though....but maybe not as much as the originals?

Sorry guys, I forgot to mention that I already played Fallout 3, it was ok, but I didn't have as much fun with it as I thought I would. Thanks for the rec though.

I have Sacred 2, I'll give it to you for $5.00. I couldn't get into it. PM me if you want it.

Which fallout 3 did you play... Because it's more like a shooter than anything

Demon's Souls is the best RPG this generation, in my opinion.

If Demon's Souls isnt appealing to you, then Fallout 3 would probably be a good choice, since you liked the train-wreck known as Oblivion ;)

Dragon Age. I only play DAO on the PC but if I didnt and wanted a great RPG for my PS3 it would be DAO.

Dragon Age, I've been playing for 45+ hours and I'm still loving it. I'm looking forward to starting a 2nd play through with as a Mage.

Demon's Souls is just about the biggest reason I'd want to have a PS3.

One option you have, that many other people don't realize or forget, is to scour pawn shops and used book places for videogames... Fallout 3 can EASILY be had at my local used bookstore for only $10!!

isn't it kind of a hybrid system? you do need to build up "action points" before you can fire your weapon again.

No, you can fire your gun at any time like a shooter. The VATS system allows you to make more accurate surgical attacks because accuracy in FPS mode is still dependant on your gun skills.

the cool thing about VATS is even if you are low on AP, you can still use it as a targeting system. a lot of times i would get 2-3 shots away and then just hammer the fire button so when it exits VATS, if the enemy is low on HP, one more shot will usually take him/her down.
