Redeem $100 SC to GC through ebates, maybe another $4 from Ebates (I'm not sure). Buy at TheSportsAuthority.com through ebates, another $3 from Ebates. Fianlly $83 or $79.

Nice racquet! I've been using a Wilson Pro Staff 5.5si and have been thinking about the upgrade... though this racquet will undoubtedly play differently. My friend said it is like going from a classic style 3-wood to a "ti" driver is in golf :) I tend to hit too hard as it is, loosing control of the little green ball... so perhaps the Hammer isn't the one for me :)

Hammers are extremely powerful... I see them as most powerful with older players that can't swing as fast and produce topspin...

I prefer the classic ProStaff anyways.

wilson hammers are awesome.. now granted i used one about 6 years ago, and it was my at-the-time girlfriend's.. but it was great.. there are different hammers.. if you go to any store, it'll tell you the different levels.. like 4.3 - 6.0 would be for less strong hitters or whatever.. i don't know exactly.. but you can always get one that you like.. i'd get one if i didn't already have another racquet that i'm all acustomed to

For some reason I prefer the "classic" thin-frame Prince racquets. Whenever I play with any of these newer ones that have a thick frame, I tend to hit with the frame itself, and the vibrations fok up my wrist. :(

Nice racquet nonethess...

That's a good deal. I remember when Hammer first came out. It was a damn nice racquet.

I think it's still.

about the thin one, that's always the one that I prefer even though I don't mind using the thick one

This racket is good for beginers or old folks who have compact swing
or have yet developed the full swing w/ top spin needed to keep the balls in the court.
When it comes to tennis rackets don't go by the price alone. Demo one to see if you like it
before buying it.

I prefer the ProStaff 6.0 Original (85 sq. in). It's simply the best racket I've ever used.
Unfortunately, the price for this 20+ year-old racket doesn't seems to drop in price. It's still
selling for $120 - $150 range.

I agree that this is a kicka** raquet........too bad it still costs too much for me. Gotta save up I guess.

Great rackets, espcially for beginners and folks with short swings. Definitely a hot price.

Thats a great price.

I would be all over this if I didn't go to my local Flea Market and pick a new one up for $20.
I almost pissed in my pants when the guy said gimme 20 dollars for it.

Wilson says this 4.3 for Swing Speed: Moderate, medium swing. I think Hammer 2.X 3.X for beginner, 4.X 5.X for moderater, 6.X 7.X for advancer.

Use code AMEXTSA to get $10 off $100. This invalidates the free shipping, so your total savings is only $3.57, but every dollar counts. Also, I don't think ebates will give you a rebate if you use a gift certificate for the purchase, so you're probably only going to get one rebate for the original purchase of the gc.

That's not the most expensive Hammer. Big 5 has the Hyper Hammer 2.3 or Hyper Hammer Sledge 2.0, reg $299.99, on sale for $89.99 for weeks. Bascically, the lower the swing index, the more expensive the reg price. I bought the Head IS12 for $99.99 from Big 5, reg $349.

And the price is not really special (despite the use of ebates and GC), you can find similar price from most online prof sports store. Check this web site www.tenniswarehouse.com, they have the same price though you have to pay for the shipping.

I Have two hammer 6.2's and i've completely grown out of them :) Be warned when buying hammers that there is no feel in volleying with them. Get a Ti Radical or Babolots i like those two, but they are for people who have developed swings and know how to play tennis :) Oh be warned that when you buy handle heavy raquets that you can wail on the ball and it'll seem like nothing as compared to a hammer. But when your able to swing as hard as you can and still hit it down the line you'll see why pros use handle heavy raquests :) They work out and get really strong and that's how they hit hard not by having an inaccurate raquet :)
