Get ready for some killer gas and really loose stools.

Apples have sugar alcohols that do not digest in the small intestine. They break down in the large intestine producing gas, and in some people, loose stools and bloating. This is why apples have such a low GI rating and are OK to eat on a diet.

These are the same sugar alcohols that are used in sugar free chocolate. And those carry the warning above.

The sugars in apples are mostly sugar alcohols which are indigestible and have a very low Glycemic Index (30, IIRC). The very same sugars used in sugar free chocolate. This is why Apples cause gas and loose stools in many people.

I suggest purchasing a large amount of moistened towelettes while you still have the chance.

you're going to lose some weight :Q, after your bet is over (to save your stomach) start out getting back on a normal diet by drinking clear liquids, and eating a brat diet (bannanas, rice, apples, toast{dry toast}) give that a day, then move up to light foods like chicken noodle soup, turkey sandwiches frito/tostito chips with no dip, on the 3rd day you should be able to have a normalized stomach acid content to eat normally without getting an upset stomach.

Actually, apples do the opposite.

That's not what my doc told me. When I had salmonella poisoning and was sh!tting liquids like every 10 minutes, she put me on a BRAT diet.

Bananas
Rice
Applesauce/apples
Toast

She said that's what docs tell people to eat to plug themselves up.

Mystery solved:

http://www.whfoods.com/genpage...=foodspice&dbid=15

Both the soluble and insoluble fibers in apples have cancer-protective activity since they relieve constipation and send potentially toxic substances out with the stools.

When it comes to bowel regularity, apple?s two types of fiber tackle the job?no matter what it is. Both the insoluble fiber in apples and their soluble fiber pectin help relieve constipation (thus helping to prevent diverticulosis and colon cancer). The insoluble fiber works like roughage, while the pectin, which is found primarily in the skin, acts as a stool softener by drawing water into the stool and increasing stool bulk. On the other hand, because pectin firms up an excessively loose stool, it?s also used to treat diarrhea. One well-known over-the-counter diarrhea remedy, Kaopectate ?, actually contains an oxidized form of pectin.

Oh I know what bad diarrhea looks like. Just make it explosive and add a near constant need to throw up and/or dry heave and you've got the makings for a real fun time.

Hey guys, I updated the first message (I figured I'd keep the "status" all in one spot). But I'm not allowed to take vitamines or anything. Just water/apples. As far as needing 25 apples for my necessary calories and weight loss...there is NO WAY I'm going to be able to eat 25 apples a day. I get so sick of them after like 6 apples. I think I maybe had 8 apples yesterday. So yeah I know I'm gonna lose weight. And I'm waiting for the sh!t storm to happen.

Is this guy with you 24hrs/day? How does he know you wont cheat? If you do "win" what would stop him from not completing the bet?

Did you think this through even a little?
