I know there have already been a bunch of OnLive threads, but I think it's time for another one.

I finally got around to downloading it and installing (well, it's 1mb and takes about 30 seconds to get in the program) and... it's pretty amazing.

There IS noticeable delay. It's not bad, but it's bad enough that I couldn't play UT3. That being said, there are tons of good games on there, most of which won't be affected by the latency.

I recommend everyone give it a try, at least for proof of concept. It's really amazing. 5 minutes from now you can be playing Dawn of War 2.

Also - Arena is fucking AWESOME. Being able to watch ANYONE play? So cool. A few of my friends installed and we got to add each other as friends and watch each other play, pretty sweet.

Wow, I've been skeptical since they announced it, but it actually works. I just tried Metro2033 on my crappy laptop (C2D 2.0ghz, Intel Graphics, 2gb) and it plays great. Doesn't look as good as my desktop but it had a decet framerate.

If it persists, how do you think it will affect the hardware market? I like the concept, but wary of its success. I'd like it to work out.

It's a great option for people with crappy PCs/notebooks & good internet.

Not so good if you've got the other way around.

I've tried it out, but lag is too much for me.

This.

I have access to two diff connections. My primary which is Clearwire 6mb/1mb wont access it (probably as all places think i'm in nevada (180ms), when Portland pings are in the sub 20ms).

My Comcast over WIFI 12mb/2mb is too choppy for anything playable.

Lame.

If only Onlive would allow me to manually set my location, I could have a new way to play games!
