Online tea stores?

I am looking into getting started with some premium/good teas. Better than you can find in a teabag/major retailers. Does anyone have any sites they purchase tea from online? Thanks to all who post.

What kind of tea are you interested in? When we built our house I had to have a tea storage wall put in as my wife and I have so many varieties and pots.

I could probably help find something you are interested in if you give me more info.

What do you tea-heads use to brew your loose leaf?

This sushi place I go to has kettles with a little strainer/leaf holder thing right on top under the lid. It seems to work pretty well for their super delicious green tea.

I have historically used adagio. I had a couple of great teas from red blossom while in SF and am thinking of switching to them as my main supplier now. Love the silk/milk oolong from formosa.

Another Adagio customer here.

They have a good assortment of teas, I recommend their samplers to get started. They also have teabag filter packs, which you can use to add loose tea leaves to and steep at work or wherever you can't carry an infuser cup.

You can even make your own "signature" blends. Here's mine, which I tried and it's not bad (though honestly not fantastic, lol):

Oh that is cool, never knew about that!

Who would you go to for pu-er's? I buy locally now but who knows where I'll be in a few years.

I use this for when I want multiple cups.

I use that infuser in a mug for making one cup.

I use a Yixing clay tea pot. There is a strainer where the spout meets the body of the pot. I like this more than the basket infuser pots because it allows the tea leaves to fill up the entire pot. Chaff still gets through but that doesn't bother me. You could always get a $0.50 strainer to pour through if you want the perfect cup.

I didn't like the tea but I was happy with Adagio when I ordered from them. I too can send 5$ GC's if someone wants to try em out.

I haven't spent much time on it, but my friend is one of the people behind Steepster and they seem to have a pretty good community going over there. He's also a former ATer.

The problem with a yixing is you can only use one kind and blend of tea with it. Using multiple kinds will ruin the pot.

Glass is best for an entry tea pot. Cast Iron is great for a daily pot. Ceramic has a certain pure taste you can't get anywhere else. Yixing pots are great but as I said you need quite a few. What animal do you have on yours?

If I were an entry tea drinker I would definitely go cast iron as it keeps the tea warm significantly longer and is going to keep your tea at a better temp during steeping.
