Online sales tax for CA residents

Buying some computer hardware and I was going to order from an out-of-state shop so I wouldn't have to pay sales tax. But all the shops I've checked are charging tax to California residents even though they are in a different state. EMSComputer.com for example is located in FLA and says they charge sales tax to those in FLA and CA. Is there some law that's forcing companies to charge us Californians online sales tax now?

Amazon doesn't charge tax to CA.

you're legally responsible for remitting the tax if you buy from an out-of-state place. so, you have to pay the tax just like you have to obey the speed limit.
