I have used Match.com and its pretty good.

I think yahoo is supposed to be good as well and eharmony is NOT as good as it sounds from what people here have said?

I used online personals quite a bit at one time (I was living in a city in which I knew nobody). In my experience it's a good way to get laid, but not a good way to establish a relationship, since most of the women I met were pretty damaged in one way or another (some were floridly mentally ill, in fact). That said, I found it a pretty fun way to kill time, and I had some truly wild sexual exploits thanks to matchmaker.com and match.com.

i used date.ca/americansingles.com

met a girl that lived 2 hours away

we went out for 2 months

broke up with her after that

realized that:

1) girls on these sites are desperate for anybody to love them
2) italians are a bitch to deal with
3) girls that don't have a job are useless

well I'm almost a 34 year old professional so it can be hard to meet good people.

Match.com = good for getting laid.

eHarmony = found a women with great values, professional, good head on her shoulders and we are in love.

One of my better experiences started with a free one-week trial on Matchmaker.com. I signed up, posted an ad, including a pic, on Weds. Got a message from a girl on Thurs. She liked what she saw, but explained that she didn't post any pics after being harassed when she'd posted them in the past. She e-mailed me some, and she was GORGEOUS. Beautiful face, 5'5", 112 pounds, natural C cups, 2 years younger than me.

She was too nervous to talk on the phone, so we made plans to go out on Saturday. We had a few drinks with some friends of hers, she kicked them out of her place at about 2 AM, and we proceeded to do it 4 times before breakfast . . . I never did bother with a paid membership.

Keeping in mind what I said above, I'd suggest there's little point in a long-term membership. You'll get most of your action quickly, then it will taper off. If you're in a reasonably large metro area and have any kind of rap, you should be able to find quite a few good candidates, and I'd suggest you start working as quickly as possible to boat those bass. Keep in mind that, by virtue of the fact they've resorted to using online personals, these women are, as they say in real estate, motivated sellers, so you should have a relatively easy time of it.

If you really find love, that's wonderful, and I don't mean my experience should be yours.

I used to work with a guy who was ADDICTED to those local phone party chat lines. He claimed to have gotten laid at least 6 times in 3 months from meeting women off of it.

I think online personals can work but only if both people are completely honest in their ads, which probably never happens.

Yeah, eHarmony is great if you like wasting a week answering small essay questions before finally getting to TALK to someone on the phone

Their matching system is a cruel joke, too. Out of the dozens of potential "soul mates" that I got matched with, I might have been compatible with 3 or 4 of them :(

By the way, what is your PQ character's strength? And how come you keep dropping a place in the top 10?

Sort of.

Actually, come to think of it, it sucks.

It's like a MySpace for college students only.

I never paid for membership at any of those sites. I did look around and found that most of them women on there are either single moms or looking for sugar daddies. I did have some fun but no marriage materials for sure.

Bump for the daytime slut mongers:)

PSA, Match.com has a huge user base compared to Yahoo personals...

I live in a quasi rural suburb and ran across a crapload of profiles of active users.

They do all appear to be sluts too:) (I can't believe some of you think that's a bad thing)

Go sluts:thumbsup:

I did the yahoo personals thing for a bit and man did I meet psycho girls.
Don't expect too much. I did eventually meet a very normal girl that is my gf but you have to filter the good ones through.

I just ran across a chick working on her doctorate, she's pretty cute.

How the hell do you get them to meet you?

I haven't dated for 10 years or so, and I wasn't very good at it back then... I haven't had a 1st date that didn't involve sex for ~15 years...
