Online Gamers BEWARE! Asus Cheat Drivers leaked

Did you try it konichiwa?

I was able to do the install on my computer (I tried it because you said your zip file was corrupt and I didn't realize it was only for online gaming).

It's supposed to work with any TNT2, GeForce and Geforce2. Mine's an Asus 6600. I didn't notice any problems with my vidcard after installation.

Really? I thought they'd only work with Asus cards? :Q

I don't know if I want to try it anyway. If something gets canned a day after the press release...a red flag goes up for me. 😱

The reason Asus canned it was evidently because of the bad press it was getting. Not necessarily because the driver are bad (immoral, maybe).

Anyway, online gamers beware! Someone may be looking thru walls at you.

According to today news at above linked site, the drivers are only for Asus cards: Vanta 2000,V3800 series, V6600 & 6800 series, V7100 & v7700 series.

I have been unable to find confirmation of this from any other gaming website.

Great, it's the Cs-Prossionals site AGAIN! They were the ones that solicited all the model cheats back in the 5.2 days. They are the forerunners of cheating in CS and they have the audacity to call themselves "professionals". This site needs to BURN!

It's this reason that I was drawn away from CS and online gaming. Cheating ruins the game.

how are these drivers aside from the fact that it has the see through cheat? Have you seen any problems after installing them onto an Asus card? or any other card?

i have been playing FPS games since wolfenstien 3d (jeeze those were the days) and i consider myself a pretty good player.

I have been playing Unreal Tournament since it came out, and usually place in the top 2 or 3 in a game of 10 people, A lot of times i win. But i admit ive come across guys who kick my tail pretty good, but if i concentrate and play well, theres no one i cant kill a few times in a game.......

that is, until the other day, i came across this guy winning game after game 30-0, ive done this once or twice, but never 5 games in a row!! I decided i was gonna get a few frags on this guy, but I swear he must have had some cheat going, he always knew where i was, even if i had just re-spawned, he was always coming around a corner shooting rockets before he could even see me, and if i ever got into a room just me and him (where the cheat wouldnt help him) he just ran for cover, only to pop back out somwhere later to kill me. It really sucked, i was pissed off, if i find out that guy was cheating ill be pissed even more, I dont want to blame my major loss on a cheat, but it just seemed like there was a lot more to this guy than just some good fraggin skills.

Bunca p*ssies that can't beat you like a man that is all they are...I'd like to see them try to paintball or get drafted into a war..."Hey...I can't see through tthat hill, how do I know where my enemy is?"

Train - apparently there are plenty of cheaters out there, i'm sure we have all run into 'em before, certainly sounds like you did.

GideonX, I do not play games online (let alone cheat against other players). However, I did install these drivers on my Asus 6600 (I didn't notice at first that it was for on-line only). I haven't noticed any issues in single player Half-life or MDK2. Nothing out of the ordinary.

EDIT: arthurb1, actually in a "real" war all effort is made to see what's behind the hill. And there are ways to see thru walls - very useful in anti-terrorist and kidnapping situations. Looks like gaming is mirroring real life.

Cheating has really become a problem on the public UT servers. Most it's been skin cheating. Basically, hacking the textures in the skin so you can't tell what team the cheater is on.

There also has been some question about a client side cheat that allows you to autoaim. There was some a$$hole going by the name of Dark Jedi who got like 27 kills in just a few minutes, all head shots. That is pretty damn impossible, (Nobody's skills are that good.) He would never use anything buth the minigun or the sniper rifle which are both hit scan weapons. (The only ones the would work with some type of aimbot cheat)

Just another GREAT game that will be ruined by F'UCKING CHEATERS. DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!!!!

Most of what you see in hollywood about IR-sensitive equipment painting people through walls is bogus. The same is true of UV, microwave, x-ray, gamma, and millimeter-wave radar technologies. The equipment is pretty limited in its ability when you consider the true physics of the situation.

Even a light haze obscures the best IR equipment! The amount of radiation to penetrate a sheet of plasterboard makes it dangerous. Not only that, but active radiation is detectable. Passive detectors rely on pre-planned site-mapping and backscatter-reflection collection, very complicated concepts impossible to implement in a non-laboratory environment.

Dust in Desert Storm made the best-available battelfield-sensor equipment look like the main view screen in StarTrek II:The Wrath of Khan when they flew the ships through the nebula. The screen is so garbled its pretty worthless.

Like someone else already said, there are just some slimeball-cowards out there that will always cheat to claim dominance.

Cheating is wrong,

As I understand it, it is up to the game developers to build in safeguards that will not allow cheating. Maybe this obvious problem will force them to do smething about it. Otherwise online gaming will suffer.

I was hoping the drivers would work in single player mode. Then it would be educational. (You can't cheat yourself, really.)

MadRat, in actual warefare it is a big advantage to see what the other side wants hidden. That is why reconnaissance by satellite is emphasized, night vision was developed, thermal-imaging is used and work continues on trying to "see through walls". Each side wants an "unfair" advantage.

So is this cheating in actual warfare? And what if all cards supported thhis feature so everyone could "cheat" equally?

Unfortunately, I see the potential for this cheat to ruin many games in the near future... Anything that is 3D based.... I'm worried about Tribes 2... and TF2...
