Online food journal?

I'm looking at starting a daily food journal, religiously recording everything I eat. The goal being to control my calorie intake, as well as giving me some nutrition feedback. I know there are a number of web sites where you can keep a journal online. But I'd like to find one ASAP so that I don't have to try several out until I find one that works for me.

What I'll do is keep a small notepad into which I record everything by hand. Then transfer that into the journal each day, or possibly throughout the day if I want to closely control that day's calorie count. The journal would ideally have calorie counts for common foods and let me use whatever weighing method (grams or ounces) is convenient. Also, I'd really like it to have a way for me to figure out calorie counts for a recipe (say a chile or meatloaf) and then later let me portion that out. For example, say I make a casserole on Monday and on Wednesday I have a 300 gram portion of it.

Thanks.

I use http://www.myfitnesspal.com/

It has a phone app as well with a barcode scanner.

Koing

I too use MFP. Indeed, Koing was a very strong influence in my choice of this tool over the others that are there. While there are some aspects of it that I wish were different (better), overall it is a *great* resource. For years, I had attempted to record my food intake on paper, but could never keep up. On the other hand, I have now logged my food intake (and even record my weight training routines) on MFP for over 70 days straight.

Been using Lose It for the last year, and yeah you can input custom recipes. iPhone app and barcode scanner too.

Thanks for the suggestions. Does anyone have a recommendation for a book of calorie counts? I realize the online food journal will cover that, but I'd like an offline reference as well.
