Does anyone have any experience with the Blockbuster movie rental service? I have had Netflix before and they were pretty good about getting DVDs sent out. I could manage about 18 DVDs per month (3 DVDs one week, then 6 DVDs the next). I mostly rent Anime, and Blockbuster seems to have more complete series and they are cheaper. How are they with turn-around?

Depends on how close you are to one of their distribution centers. Also depends on the titles you are renting. I live not far from a Blockbuster distribution center and have great turnaround time except with documentaries and more obscure titles.

For some reason, I just signed up on BB witht he free 2 month trial and i can't rent any dvds.

Every time i try to queue one, it brings me to the sign up page, even though i'm signed in all ready.

BB SUCKS. GO figure.

They've had issues with the site for the past couple of weeks. I don't know what the deal is. It does that to me as well as prompting me to approve a security certificate. Worked fine before that. But I haven't had any issues adding DVDs to my queue.

I like BB.
I live in a city with a BB HUB so it's easy for me to get 1 or 2 day turn around.

The free coupons each month make it better for renting games.

I canceled BB's free trial subscription before it was up because it was so bad. It doesn't get any worse than that when you refuse free.

I signed up for Blockbuster Online's free month and so far the service has been great. Receiving the initial DVDs took longer than I expected, but they made up for it by sending me a total of FIVE movies instead of 3.

Greencine has pr0n... and they also have a very large collection of anime and documentaries as well as indie and some region 2 dvds... except they are out of SF and thus have a week turn around...

Go with NetFlix! They're much better than BlockBuster. They have a much wider selection of movies than BlockBuster. But I think BlockBuster is cheaper (not sure though). I switched from BlockBuster because I had alot problems with them (broken/damaged DVD).

Both are good and I have distros near me for both so I get my movies in 1 day. They're good for maybe a month or two at a time and then once I've seen everything I take some time off.

Netflix tends to get the movies in my queue out more quickly. A lot of stuff from BB was short wait or long wait. They seem to have slightly different inventories too. I haven't used Netflix in a while but blockbuster has a lot more special edition/directors cuts while netflix still had the old versions of the same DVD's.
