I am currently living outside of the US, for at least another year, but still want to earn a degree or at least gain some credits towards a degree in compsci. Are there any online courses to gain a compsci degree, where I'd only need to come in to the university for the exams?

I've done a bit of research, but the results are very mixed. I'm hoping to find a regular university that offers their courses online, so that it will not look strange on a resume.

Thanks guys.

Do you have any credits yet? If not, find a regular university and knock out your gen ed stuff, then go in class when you get back stateside. The only school I know of that offers a computer sci degree all online is Regis University, i'm sure there are others but thats the only one i know of. My advice is take your gen ed online then take the classes for your major on campus.

Ya, you can go for it but please check the affiliation of the institute because in last few days I have gone through many fraud cases of this kind.

university of phoenix is pretty good. I see a lot of their ads on TV too

lulz.

We laugh at resumes that list University of Phoenix. There's an ongoing joke that the person must have seen the commercial for them while watching Dr. Oz in the middle of the day.

Here's your resource www.Degreeinfo.com

I have a BS in Comp Sci from Regents College - now Excelsior - which I got because I was doing contract programming for a large corporation. The corporation required all of their contract programmers to have a CS degree - so management sent me to Regents (and paid for it - not expensive) I also have a MS/CS but that's from a nearby University Fairleigh Dickinson

It would be prudent to be very careful about any online program.

While I can't comment on any particular program, I have met some people from the U of I in Springfield Illinois. I know that they offer online CS degrees. You might want to include them when you research programs.

Best of luck.
