eCost has the Onkyo HTS770S Home Theater System for $373 + $7 handling. It comes with the receiver and 6.1 channel speakers. Unbelieveable good price for an awesome system. Add it to your cart to see the discount price.

Black Version is selling for $399.

Only seen a comment by one guy on-line who bought them. He said they sounded better than most component systems he's heard in the under $2,000 range. Take that for what it's worth.

Confused me for a second, shows up at $499 at first, but after adding to cart it comes down.

Looks like a good deal. Thanks, OP!

Is this the 770? Reading the specs it only says 100 watt per channel whereas I think it sould be 130 watts per channel. Do you think this may really be a 760 rather than a 770?

I have the HTS770B system that I got from Circuit City when they first came out. I managed to get it for ~$350 after a $50 MIR. It is 6 channels by 130 plus 220 subwoofer for a 1000 watt system. It is fine for movies and with the addition of a couple more front speakers would be fine for listening to music. Music sounds too artificial in surround sound to me anyway and the front pair of speakers are designed pretty much for the home theater experience. The subwoofer adds plenty of bass and fits the bill exactly for those movie scenes like T Rex in Jurassic Park when the ground starts shaking. I consider that I got my money's worth and then some for this system and would say that if you can buy it for around the same as the HTS660 you should go with this. I have mine set up in a Home Theater room with a 9 foot wide 16X9 screen and usually listen to music in another room. I'm considering adding a pair of Polk towers from Fry's for ~$200 the next time I see them on sale to complement what I consider to already be a very good system. You might check the reviews listed on the Circuit City website. Some of the reviewers will give a fairly unbiased appraisal. I haven't visited recently to add my own opinion but for the money it's hard to beat.

Don't forget ebates' 2% off!

Also, instead of these, I got the HTS670S for $339.10 (taxed/shipped), or $306.30 when added to the cart.

I've demo'd these multiple times at different stores and was never impressed. I thought perhaps it was the specific store that didnt have settings set up properly for whatever reason...

After the great reviews I read, i was about to buy them. However, when i heard them i was very dissapointed with the overall system. The sub was lacking bottom end and the speakers were not clear or sharp. Then again I only listened to music and not movies.... but even at this price point, I've heard much better.

I don't get it.
It just shows me $499, not $373.
Have they already changed the price?

Did you receive the system yet?
Was it free shipping?
According to their free shipping policy, they will charge for shipping if an item weigh over 40lbs.
So I'm not sure whether they charge it or not for Onkyo HT-S770.

If anyone has doubts, don't. This system absolutely rocks for the money. It sounds incredible for movies and pretty damn good for music. I bought my mom this system for $500 a while back and she loves it. I'd have bought one for myself, but NYC apt life won't tolerate it. The 10" sub has monstrous bass for the size.
