Add to cart for discount. This is as good a deal as I've seen for a true HTIB. You may do better cherry picking components, but that can be a gigantic hassle. The receiver puts out 130W/channel @ 6 ohms, and the sub is rated down to 25Hz. Anyone have this set?

I have this set. Got it probably a year or so ago. I like it a lot in my living room. Definitely worth the money, in my opinion.

Refurb from shoponkyo is $479 shipped less any points (10 for creating account then accrued for purchases), no tax for most. Extended warranty not available. Better deals can be had from "Club Specials" but no systems are available at the mo' -just a couple AVRs including TX-SR607 for $329.

Refurb from accessories4less is $440 plus shipping (which ain't cheap for these big ol' boxes).

New from jr is $480 plus shipping, and again no tax for most.

Note that purchasing new from anywhere may have extended coverage from your credit card.

From my experience, while Onkyo amps and receivers (I own several) are very respectable. However, their speakers leave much to be desired. A few years back, I was able to snatch 2 refurb Onkyo receivers from onsale.com for about $135 vs the $250 street price. They were basically part of some Onkyo home-theater package, but with only the receiver. Just an idea..
