Onkyo HT-S590 (refurb) 5.1 Channel HTIB for $143.10

Right now Shop Onkyo has 10% off all refurbished items for members.

The member price for the HT-S590 5.1 channel Home Theater in a Box is $159.00, which is a good deal in of itself.

Subtract the 10% off and you have $143.10.

The deal can become even sweeter if you have Onkyo Points. I believe Shop Onkyo gives you 10 points for creating an account. Each point is equal to a dollar. I used my 10 points to bring the price down to $133.10!

The shipping is free and there is no tax in most states.

Here's the link to Shop Onkyo.

Here's the direct link to the HT-S590.

Damn. I was going to wait until hdmi switching was out or maybe pick up a 790 or better. This is just too tempting.

I guess I have to call them and see if I can get the extra 10% as I had just purchased this item yesterday. It sucks if they don't give it to me, but still a great deal nonetheless

Damn, order this last week and they just shipped it. Oh well, still a good price. But saving another $30 wouldve been nice, hehe.

You have to log in to your Club Onkyo account to see the $159 price.

Damn, I wish I needed this, I have 10 points to use as well!

This deal is VERY hot!

You could go for the S894, it is also available under the 10% off promotion. Only 2 HDMI inputs, but ~$500 for an HDMI switching receiver & speakers is pretty damn hot, IMO! Oh, and it comes with a DVD player (separate).

OP, did you not get charged tax? I did and it was around $9, no big deal still smokin' hot... especially since I was eyeballing this unit as an open box at circuit city for $220...

Thanks!

Total for me = $142.42

Some reviews say these are really bad...I wanted to buy them at first but then I decided to pass after reading some of the reviews.

Yeah I saw it as well, but I think I'll hold off on getting a decent htib/5.1 setup for now.

Just ordered one for 128.10, now i hope circuit city takes back the one i just got from them that i paid 284.84 for

Yup, they look to be sold out... I guess these come in and out of stock all the time, atleast that was what I read on some other forums when researching them.

UPDATE: Showing up now for refurb price again.

Mine arrived today, which is pretty cool since it wasn't scheduled to arrive until the 21st.

What's also cool is that it seems to have come with pretty much everything that the normal retail package comes with. They gave me the remote, batteries, manual, and speaker wire (didn't really need the wire, but its still nice). Everything appears to be in like new condition. I'm in the process of trying to set up my room for the speakers now.

For what it's worth, you can't get a better entry level system for around $150.

Mine is a yellowish orange.

Overall, the system has exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with it. At $133, I've gotten more than my money's worth.

I am very happy with my system. First surround system I've owned. It came with all the accessories minus the batteries for the remote.

Only one issue. There was a cardboard cylinder loose in the sub. Reattached it to the port. I'll probably silicone it in place when I get a chance. Seems to work fine, though.

I'll probably have to drop another hundred bucks on fiber cables to make everything in my system digital 🙁

Any suggestions on cheap reliable sources of audio cable on the net?
